End the Elven Death Penalty

Everone’s favorite failed Elven presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich has introduced a bill in Congress to abolish the Death Penalty.  I say Kudos to him.

I don’t know how well-received this will be by the Republican-controlled Congress, but God Bless him.  Now Kucinish certainly isn’t perfect, he is rabidly pro-abortion and altogether liberal to a ridiculous degree.  Nonetheless I would support the abolition of Capital Punishment.

I never foresaw myself saying something like this.  Maybe I’ll wear my Kucinich button around… Naaaah!

Despite this I still tend to align more with the GOP.

I can’t help but think that this may be politically motivated by the whole Tookie Williams case, but if we can end unnecessary killing that would be nice.

Now let’s pen some anti-abortion legislation, GOP!

Hey Andrew, you do know that Dennis K. gives the term populist a bad name? I tend to align myself with the GOP also, but I am at the point where I say, no more crumbs. Nothing less than overturning Roe V Wade will do. I am beginning to wonder if the GOP has the will. They talk a good game around elections and rope in the prolifers, but in the end, the killing continues. Anyone for a catholic Party? Small c of course standing for universal. We wouldn't want to think we were indoctrinating with the Big C. Wink, Wink, Uncle Frank

As a Catholic I am divided on the Death Penalty becuase it puts government in the plce of God; however, I can see a place where its application is proper.

In the Williams case, he represented a threat to society both within and in the event he ever escaped to others becuase there would always be the tendency in him to kill to achieve his own desired ends. This is from his own writing.

I agree that overturning RvW is necessary; but I like your indoctrinate with the Big C idea better as a means to end abortions. Overturning RvW will only revert the law back to the states. We need to change the hearts of the people to end abortion.

Good stuff here Andrew. I like yur site.
