I've got a hankerin'

1.7 million dollars? For a little spanking?

The jury said Orlando did not suffer from sexual assault, as she had alleged.

Jurors awarded Orlando $10,000 for economic loss, $40,000 for future medical costs and $450,000 for emotional distress, pain and suffering. They awarded her an additional $1.2 million in punitive damages.

She didn't suffer from sexual assault, BUT she deserves $1.7 mill? That's rediculous. It's also rediculous that competing sales people are spanking each other; one could say that it's "alarming." (forgive the pun)

You'd think that knowing this they would be a bit more cautious in their business practices:

During the trial, company attorneys revealed that Orlando had sued a previous employer, also claiming that she had been sexually harassed.

Sure there is corporate greed in America, but it is met or exceeded by the lawyers and plaintiffs that pull this kind of stuff off. Juries just go crazy over this stuff too. "We'll get you 1.2 million dollars in punitive damage. You're gonna take us out after the trial right?"
