Islam insulted by insinuation of violence, responds with violence.

This is just so rediculous.

Al Qaeda continues to ask for it.

"We tell the worshipper of the cross (the Pope) that you and the West will be defeated, as is the case in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya," said a Web statement by the Mujahideen Shura Council.

"We shall break the cross and spill the wine ... God will (help) Muslims to conquer Rome ... (May) God enable us to slit their throats, and make their money and descendants the bounty of the mujahideen," said the statement, posted on Sunday on an Internet site often used by al Qaeda and other militant groups.

It just goes to show you that nothing has changed in 600 or so years (and then some)

Here are the dreaded words of death.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached". The emperor, after having expressed himself so forcefully, goes on to explain in detail the reasons why spreading the faith through violence is something unreasonable. Violence is incompatible with the nature of God and the nature of the soul. "God", he says, "is not pleased by blood - and not acting reasonably (σὺν λόγω) is contrary to God's nature. Faith is born of the soul, not the body. Whoever would lead someone to faith needs the ability to speak well and to reason properly, without violence and threats... To convince a reasonable soul, one does not need a strong arm, or weapons of any kind, or any other means of threatening a person with death...".

Compare with Al Qaeda and others' response. It is a non sequitur for them to be offended and to react in the way that they do. It is a bit of irony that escapes these "thin-skinned bronze-age fanatics" to use Mark Shea's epithet.

Christians be prepared to defend your faith with your life if necessary. Pray for the strength.

St. Michael the archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou oh prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen

Remember also to pray for your enemies and those who persecute you.

For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

After glancing at some websites that suggest that the Jihadists are ready to make war and that Muslims should leave the U.S., I offer this statement, that while emotional and probably not very Christian-- does however, make me feel a little better:

I am afraid most folks just don't get it, especially the dimwits in Washington. Why are we in the Middle East? Why are we so beholden to Israel? Who said that we had to spread the worldly "sacrament of democracy" to a people who do not want it or know what to do with it anyhow? It is not like our democratic "Culture of Death" has any credibility. When a courageous politician/pundit loyal to the True Faith like Pat Buchanan gets dismissed and vilified as an isolationist crackpot, we know we are in trouble. I am all for the "unhappy" Muslims leaving the United States, where they can go and practice their religion in chaos--many of them probably should not have been allowed to come in the first place. Yes, I said it. And that goes for the Mexicans, Canadians, Cubans or anybody else who are here illegally or wish to cause mayhem in our land. These are not our Father's and Grandfather's immigrants.

We have been hijacked by the liberal politicians and the sorry media. We truly are in a religious war that needs to be fought on our knees, in front of the Blessed Sacrament with Rosary firmly clenched in our fingers. The protestants and most Catholics still think it is by the sword, just like the jihadists. They do not "hate us for freedom", President Bush needs to drop that line. They hate us because we are not Muslim and maybe because we do not stand for anything, except perhaps materialism, greed, abortion, pornography and the moral cesspool that is Hollywood. Perhaps if we had stayed true to our CATHOLIC ROOTS and allowed for the Social Reign of Jesus Christ to be our Magna Carta, then they would truly have something to hate us for. Now wouldn't that be nice? We need to take America back from all those who have aided and abetted the enemy, from without and within. And please blogheads do not call me an enemy--I love this country, although I grieve for it at times.

Remember I said "unhappy" Muslims! I live and work with many beautiful Muslims and I truly love them, but the happy and grateful folks must speak out against the extremist who wish do do us harm. This would be a proper martyrdom. In the Catholic Tradition it is known as a "white martyrdom." And as Andrew said, we may be called to give up our lives for our Catholic Faith, that is known as "red martyrdom." There will be no "70 virgins" just the "Beatific Vision" eternity with our Creator.

Sorry folks, but when my Pope gets burned in effigy it kind of ticks me off!

May the Queen of All Hearts be with you and yours. UF
