The Crusades.

The Crusades are in the news again. Hopefully we can bring to light what really happened during the Crusades. We can finally give the truth behind the Crusades. I am sick of the revisionist anti-Catholic "history" that continues to be spread throughout media. (Kingdom of Heaven, The Da Vinci Code, and every Chick tract, anyone?)

The article itself here is actually pretty stupid being poorly researched and badly written, but at least they seem to acknowledge that the standard pro-Islamic view on History is possibly bunk. Of course, if Henry Ford is to be believed, all "history is Bunk."

To summarize what actually happened:
*Crusades were defensive, sparked by violence against Christians in the Holy Land.
*Some of the Crusaders did stupid things especially the one group that thought it was a good idea to sack Constantinople. It was the worst thing to happen to the Eastern-Western Church relations since the filioque debacle... well perhaps ever.

At any rate three cheers unto Benedict XVI for his defense of the truth.
