One group at the event encouraged students not to have protected sex - or any sex at all. LSA sophomore Monika Chaudhry said she was disheartened when she saw a flyer for the Safe Sex Fair. She sent an e-mail out to a group of friends asking them to join her in promoting abstinence at the event.

"I decided I couldn't get upset about it unless I decided to do something about it," Chaudhry said.

Chaudhry and her friends, donning orange shirts that said "I'm 100% safe" - implying abstinence is the only foolproof way to prevent pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases - handed out pamphlets on abstinence.

Not too bad. We weren't portrayed as zealous idiots or anything.
