Call to Action

The Archbishop of Milwaukee is showing some cojones in dealing with a CTA meeting.
A meeting featuring Detroit's own Bp. Gumbleton.

Call to Action is bad news. This article sums it up pretty well in the last paragraph.

Call to Action, based in Chicago, reports a 25,000-person membership that includes laity, priests and religious sisters, and brothers. It advocates such things as the ordination of women and married men, more intellectual freedom for Catholic theologians, and consultation with the laity and clergy in the formation of church doctrine and the selection of bishops.

(Emphasis mine)

This group wants to abandon 1970+ years of Sacred Tradition from Jesus to Peter to Benedict.
I think these people would feel more comfortable in the Episcopal church.

Ordained women- Sorry, but this is unchangeable. Read the Catechism and the Bible.

A common argument is that Christ didn't put women in charge because of the culture He was in. Christ was a radical. If Christ truly wanted women to be ordained he would have made it so when he started His Church. Christ was not simply bound by the cultural limitations of His time. He talked to women, in public! He held women in very high regard despite the surrounding culture. Yet, He did not elevate women to ordination.

"Intellectual Freedom" of course refers to declaring open season on the Magisterium. Well, my body wants to do this... So, it must be ok... Theologians already have plenty of intellectual freedom. Some of them abuse it and make things up. What we as humans need of course is true freedom. We need true freedom from sin through Christ Jesus, not the freedom to do whatever we feel like.

The Church is not a democracy. I for one am glad that it is not. If the Church were a democracy, we would have probably fallen to something like Arianism or Manicheism. I for one am thankful for Matthew 16:18. "And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it."

I trust in God, and the hierarchy he set up with Peter and the apostles to run His Church. I do not put my faith in men, because of our tendency toward sin. I put my faith in God and in His Church with its unchangeable doctrine of the past 2 millennia.

Ordained married men I am not too concerned with, since there are already married men who are ordained. There are not a whole lot in the Latin Rite itself, but they exist.
