Putting their money where their mouth is.

Democrats are talking big about minimum wage.

What year is it? Oh it's a mid-term election year.

The Democrats are stepping up to the plate and hoping to hit one out of the park, but this will hopefully be caught on the warning track.

The annual pay raise for congress will probably pass despite this political posturing and pandering to the poor. This is the Democrats' Federal Marriage Amendment.

Of course if the poor tend to vote for you, well there is an incentive to keep people poor right?

5.15/hr may not be much, but it's better than getting nothing when your employer can't afford 7.25/hr.

Minimum wages are price floors, which any economics wizard worth his salt will tell you are bad.

Bah...
Politics.

If you're still not convinced...

How about now?

He Wears His Sunglasses at Night.

Where is he now?
Corey Hart now plays for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Ok, I guess it isn't the "real" Corey Hart...

Unless he wrote the song when he was 1 year old...

It's my blog

so I can write about whatever I want.

So today you get Arena Football. It has a nifty history in the Detroit Area.

Mike Illich owned the Detroit Drive, who played at JLA.
Illich sold them after he bought the Tigers.
They won Arena Bowls 2,3,4, and 6.
They moved to Massachusetts when Illich sold them.

Interestingly enough, The Grand Rapids Rampage is technically the same franchise.

The Detroit Fury were owned by Bill Davidson and Bill Ford. They played at the Palace for 4 seasons 2001-2004 'til they were terminated.

Awareness needs to be reaised on this issue, hence this post.

By the way Arena Bowl XX (yes it really is that old) was recently won by the Chicago Rush.

The UN and FIFA

Kofi Annan gushes about the World Cup and how he wishes the UN were like it.

Don't worry, Kofi.
The UN is alot like the World Cup.

-They both get alot of world-wide attention, but don't really accomplish anything.
-The majority of Americans care about neither.
-Prostitution/Sex Abuse anyone? World Cup. UN.
-Did I mention that they are both useless?

Feel free to add anything.

Move over Tennesee

It looks like there is a new "Volunteer State" around.
Yes the "Beehive State" known better as Utah, the land of the Mormons is best of the 50 states in volunteer work.

Utah residents volunteer more often and give more of their time than people in any other state, according to a national report released Monday.

June 10 update

Well it's been a while. I've been busy with my job and commuting about 3 hours total a day. I haven't found a whole lot of time for blogging.

At any rate here are a few stories.

Meeting of the Lizard-men planning the NWO occurs in Canada.

Not-so-innocent blood was spilled in Iraq.

Al Gore made a movie based on hype, not actual scientific concensus.

That's enough.
